Ice Energy, www.iceenergy.co.uk , is celebrating victory having won the Heat Efficient Installer of the Year accolade at the inaugural Renewables Awards in Coventry. Held at the Ricoh Arena, the awards ceremony featured some of the top names from within the renewables industry and was attended by over 800 people. Hosted by top comedian Michael McIntyre and BBC presenter Julia Bradbury, the awards seek to recognise the companies and individuals who have excelled in the promotion and provision of renewable energy products and services in the UK.

To win the award, Ice Energy had to meet set criteria, voted on by an independent panel of industry experts and covering items such as the type and number of installations completed each year, the manufacturers worked with, the range of products available and the training initiatives implemented by the nominated company.

Speaking of his happiness in winning the award, Managing Director Andrew Sheldon said “We are absolutely delighted to be the inaugural winners of this award, especially in the company of such a large selection of our peers.”

“We feel this recognises the many years of hard work Ice Energy have undertaken as a company to promote renewable energy solutions such as heat pumps and solar PV systems, and to educate people on the merits of adoption and installation of this technology. It was also pleasing that the judges considered training initiatives within the criteria as this is another very important part of our business. Building confidence and trust with customers, especially when adopting a new form of technology is vital and using highly skilled operatives to complete the installations is key to that confidence building.”

Are you aware of the Renewable Heat Premium Payment?

The RHPP came into effect on August 1st and mean that homeowners in England, Wales and Scotland whose primary property is already occupied, off the main gas grid and is their primary residence, can apply for grants of £1,250 towards the cost of Ground Source Heat Pumps and £850 towards Air Source Heat Pumps.

Importantly, this is not an alternative to the Renewable Heat Incentive but is in addition to it.

To qualify for the grants, the product and installer must be MCS accredited (Ice Energy and their products fully meet this criteria). Additionally, basic insulation must have been installed where practicable (loft insulation to 250mm, cavity wall insulation).

Having vigorously championed the RHI, Ice Energy is delighted by the introduction of the RHPP which we view as an important initial step to support people who want to install renewable heat technologies.

To reflect this and as part of our continued commitment to offer the very best opportunities to our customers, for a limited period we pledge to match the level of RHPP funding on offer. This means that if you order a heat pump today, you will effectively double up your entitlement receiving a discount of between £850 and £1,250 on your quotation as well as being able to apply for the RHPP grant.

Please note that there is a limited budget for the RHPP Grants which are issued on a first come first served basis so we strongly recommend you act as quickly as possible to guarantee your payment as well as your matched funding from Ice Energy. Although the Government will be giving priority to off-gas properties, Ice Energy funding will be available to everyone.
